Job description

Fundamental Hospitality is looking to hire a Junior Counsel to join our team at our Head Office in DIFC, Dubai.

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Junior Counsel to join our legal team. The Junior Counsel will assist the legal department with a variety of tasks, including contract review, legal research, compliance and general legal support across the business. You will report directly to the In-House Legal Counsel.

Key Responsibilities :

Contract Review and Drafting : Assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising various contracts and agreements to ensure they comply with legal standards.

Legal Research : Conduct legal research on a wide range of matters, including corporate law, employment law, data privacy, and intellectual property law.

Compliance and Risk Management : Assist in ensuring compliance with local and international regulations affecting the hospitality industry, including health and safety.

Internal Legal Support : Provide legal guidance and support to other departments (e.g., operations, HR, marketing, and finance) on various day-to-day legal issues impacting the business.

Regulatory and Licensing Matters : Assist in handling the company’s regulatory and licensing requirements, including obtaining and renewing operational licenses, permits, and certifications.

Corporate Governance : Assist in drafting and managing corporate governance documentation and help with board materials and shareholder communications.

Document Management : Maintain organized files for contracts, litigation matters, compliance documents, and other legal records.

Qualifications and Skills :

Education : Law degree (LLB or equivalent) from an accredited law school.

Experience : 1-3 years of legal experience, ideally gained through in-house legal department with exposure to hospitality law, commercial contracts, or regulatory compliance.

Skills and abilities :

Strong research & analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal issues.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly and concisely.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced work environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Arabic is a plus.

Experience in Hospitality would be an advantage.
