Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a Junior Accountant to enhance the finance department's efficiency. This role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail and a strong accounting background. You'll be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, processing vendor payments, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Finance and relevant experience in AR, AP, and GL, preferably within the UAE. Qualifications

  • 1-4 years of relevant work experience in AR, AP & GL.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and VAT laws in UAE.

  • Prepare inter-company reconciliations and assist with month-end tasks.

Job description

The Junior Accountant will contribute to the efficient and effective workings of the finance department by executing daily tasks with a strong attention to detail. This role will utilize strong accounting knowledge, time management skills and effective problem solving to ensure success.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assists in management of day-to-day accounting operations
  2. Invoicing & Cash Application
  3. Processing Vendor Payments
  4. Assists in performing general ledger accounting functions as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of ensuring that department functions are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  5. Accounting for Fixed Assets & Depreciation
  6. Expense Booking, Provision & Accruals
  7. Accounting for Leases
  8. Cash and Bank entries and reconciliation
  9. Prepare inter-company reconciliation
  10. Assisting with month-end, quarter-end and year-end tasks
  11. Filing and Records Retention
  12. Adhoc work

Other requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s or Higher Degree in Commerce/Accounting/Finance (BCom/MCom/CA Foundation / ICWA Inter / MBA Finance)
  2. 1-4 years relevant work experience in AR, AP & GL (Preferably in the UAE)
  3. Strong MS Excel skills
  4. Strong understanding of IFRS, International Accounting Standards, VAT laws and its implementation in UAE, will be an added advantage.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  6. Ability to work independently and in a team oriented environment
  7. A hard-working team player
