Job description

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, ensuring compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS), and supporting the finance manager in day-to-day financial tasks. This role requires a high level of accuracy, analytical thinking, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage general ledger functions and ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly management reports and analysis
  • Assist in preparation and analysis of financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
  • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers and provide accounting support to operations
  • Coordinate and liaise with external auditors for annual audits.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Prepare VAT filings and ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the UAE.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software Xero, QuickBooks
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in automobile and/or real estate industry
  • Certification - CPA/ACCA/CA
