Junior Accountant

Job Overview

We are looking for an ambitious Junior Accountant to provide support to the accounting department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances.

Preparing financial statements and reporting are a large part of the junior accountant’s day-to-day work. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.

The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition to accomplish long term success.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
• Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by analyzing information from the general ledger system
• Review and balance internal accounts, analyze variances, prepare reports, and monitor depreciable assets using financial software.
• Match, batch, and code vendor invoices
• Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
• Prepare and interpret financial summaries and provide reports to managers on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
• Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and sales tax computations.
• Check terms and conditions for customer forward orders and banking details.
• Type and file documents and correspondence.
• Assist with other accounting projects.
• Processes month end documents and reports.

Educational and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in accounting.
