Qualifications

Corporate Affairs & Communications Manager

What this position is about - Purpose

The incumbent will lead the development and implementation of corporate/external/regulatory/public affairs strategies and communications programs in the Middle East and Shisha Cluster, aligning with JTI's global strategies. They will work closely with the CA&C Director and other managers, understanding the operating environment (social, economic, political, business, regulatory) and proactively managing risks related to changes in this environment.

What will you do - Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute strategic engagement plans for the respective markets in the cluster, aligned with JTI's strategy.
  2. Collaborate with the team to develop advocacy materials and position papers on topics such as taxation, standards, anti-illicit trade, and regulations.
  3. Identify, anticipate, and manage regulatory changes and risks across markets.
  4. Build and maintain a network of stakeholders and policymakers.
  5. Understand the political, economic, regulatory, and business environment; communicate changes and risks promptly to internal stakeholders.
  6. Act as a spokesperson for JTI, defending company positions and executing action plans.
  7. Assist and manage cross-functional projects related to corporate affairs and communications.
  8. Enhance JTI's brand and reputation internally and externally through strategic communications.
  9. Develop and communicate messages from company leaders.
  10. Partner with HQ and market teams to develop employee communication plans and campaigns.

Who are we looking for - Requirements:

  1. Develop and implement strategic engagement plans in line with JTI's strategy.
  2. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Business Law, Journalism, or related fields.
  3. At least 5 years of professional experience in public, corporate, external, regulatory, or government affairs, preferably in regulated industries.
  4. Strong understanding of business, corporate affairs, and the impact of tax and regulatory issues.
  5. Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English, both oral and written.
  6. Ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  7. Strong interpersonal, presentation, leadership, teamwork, and public speaking skills.
  8. Experience in the tobacco industry is a plus.
