Job Description Senior Accountant / Tax Accountant
- Perform closing activities on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
- Ensure proper booking and reconciliation of prepaid and accrued expenses
- Manage accounts payables and receivables in coordination with respective stakeholders
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of periodic financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Prepare special reports requested by management/direct manager
- Support auditing activities and assist in the preparation of various schedules related to periodic audits
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions in accordance with accounting policies and procedures
- Prepare the monthly payroll and employee final settlements
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts in coordination with internal stakeholders
- Conduct periodic financial analysis and critical reviews and report to concerned supporting management decision
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in the management of stock depreciation
- Record all transactions with compliance to VAT and maintain related records accordingly
- Manage all bank correspondences and reconciliations accordingly
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of accounting operations, policies and procedures while ensuring internal controls are in place
- Ensure the existing IT platform is optimally utilized and participate in the implementation of new systems/processes
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations and maximizing deductions.
- Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to provide informed recommendations on tax strategies to minimize liabilities.
- Review and analyze financial statements for accuracy, ensuring proper accounting practices are followed.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to external auditors.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of changes in tax laws and regulations to keep the organization compliant.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights for strategic planning.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, highlighting key performance indicators for management review.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other applicable standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus for advanced knowledge.
- Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are highly preferred, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting or tax experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Experience in tax compliance for both individuals and businesses, with a solid understanding of various tax codes.
- Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle, alongside advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of interpreting complex financial data and providing actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong time management.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage, particularly for multinational firms.
