CoastAL Restaurant brings a fresh, classic CoastAL fare featuring chef inspired dishes, local seafood, seasonal favorites, and indulgent desserts. From quick bites to eat while on the beach to date nights with spectacular views, CoastAL’s combination of indoor and outdoor seating is the best of both worlds.

The restaurant is searching for passionate, enthusiastic, dynamic, and proactive aspiring chefs worldwide seeking to live a once-in-a-lifetime professional and cultural experience in the United States.

Responsibilities

As a cook intern, your duties will include the following:

  • Performing various food preparations, cooking, and cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen remains efficient in creating and delivering dishes for patrons.
  • Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
  • Daily preparation of food items in their assigned outlet as well as other areas of the kitchen.
  • Supplying clean and sanitized dishes to the dining room and kitchen stations as well as operating and maintaining dishwashing equipment and supplies.
  • Assisting the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Cooks, and other kitchen personnel in the production of menu items which ensures a high level of performance, guest satisfaction, and profitability.
Estimated Monthly Budget
  • Projected monthly income: $2,400 (Hourly wage: $15)
  • Projected costs for housing: $600 / Month
  • Meals provided during working hours
J1 Visa Program

This internship is part of a J1 visa program intended for students, young professionals, or recent graduates to propel their careers, gain work experience, and improve their skills through cultural exchange.

The J1 Visa process and application fees has a total cost of $1,870, broken down as follows:

  • Last payment due upon visa approval: $1,450 (includes $650 of mandatory health insurance)

Disclaimer: The first month of housing has to be paid by the candidate in advance. The employer does not cover the airfare cost, which will vary depending on the candidate's city of departure.

About You

To be eligible for a J1 Visa, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You’re between the ages of 18 to 35 years old
  • You’re a student of an accredited institution pursuing a degree in the field related to the job position
  • OR - You graduated less than 12 months ago from an accredited institution and received a degree in the field related to the job position.
  • Language required: English.
