Job summary

Tanqeeb in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Commis Chef for Italian cuisine to support the culinary team in preparing authentic Italian dishes while maintaining quality, freshness, and presentation standards. You will handle mise en place, section organization, stock rotation and daily kitchen operations.

The role involves assisting with pasta, risotto, sauces, antipasti, soups, meat, seafood and vegetables, following the Chef de Partie and senior chefs to keep the section running smoothly and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or related discipline preferred.
• 1–2 years kitchen experience, preferably with Italian cuisine in luxury hospitality.
• Knowledge of Italian ingredients, recipes, and techniques.
• Experience in mise en place, pasta, sauces, antipasti and vegetables is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and presenting Italian dishes according to recipes and standards.
• Complete daily mise en place and ensure ingredients are ready before service.
• Support preparation of pasta, risotto, sauces, antipasti, soups, meat, seafood, and vegetables.
• Follow Chef de Partie and senior chefs to ensure smooth section operations.
• Maintain consistency in flavour, texture, temperature, portioning and presentation.
• Ensure proper labeling, dating, storage and rotation of ingredients.
