Nexus Solutions in Dubai is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to build, maintain and support IT systems and infrastructure for internal teams and clients. You will resolve tickets, work within change procedures and contribute to client builds.

The role focuses on security, backups, admin of access, and documentation, with emphasis on incident response, system health monitoring, and timely delivery.

Builds, maintains and supports IT systems and infrastructure for internal teams and clients. Contributes to larger internal and client builds. Resolves technical tickets and escalations from first-line support. Works within agreed standards, priorities and change procedures.

Requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Systems Build & Implementation

• Build and configure systems, infrastructure and services.
• Contribute to larger internal and client builds as part of the wider team.
• Test implementations for functionality, security and supportability.
• Hand over work with documentation and support procedures in place.

Infrastructure Operations & Maintenance

• Maintain servers, cloud services, networks, and firewalls to agreed standards.
• Monitor availability, performance and capacity, acting before issues affect users.
• Complete patching, backups and restore tests on schedule.
• Identify aging or unreliable components and recommend improvements.

Technical Support

• Resolve technical tickets from internal teams and clients within agreed SLAs.
• Handle escalations from first-line support and resolve causes.
• Keep requesters informed of progress, next steps and expected resolution times.
• Escalate issues beyond the role’s authority or expertise promptly and clearly.

Access, Security & Change Control

• Administer tools and platforms, including accounts, groups and permissions.
• Apply MFA, endpoint protection and configurations consistently across systems.
• Assess, test and record changes, with rollback steps prepared.
• Support tracking of licenses, domains, certificates and renewals.

Documentation & Continuity

• Maintain configuration records, network diagrams and operating procedures.
• Record troubleshooting findings, known issues and recovery steps for future use.
• Store credentials and recovery information only in approved secure systems.
• Ensure every maintained system can be supported and recovered by another team member.

Delivery & Time Management

• Deliver assigned work within agreed scope, estimates and deadlines.
• Log time accurately against internal and client work, including project tasks.
• Treat time as a cost, avoiding unnecessary complexity and rework.
• Give clear updates on progress, system health, outstanding issues and risks

Required:

• 3 years hands-on IT experience across systems, infrastructure and user support.
• Proven experience building systems and maintaining them after launch.
• Structured, methodical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Experience administering user accounts, permissions and access across business tools.
• Practical understanding of networking, servers or cloud services, and backups.
• Experience resolving technical tickets and escalations for internal users or clients.
• Experience producing clear documentation and following change control procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly.
• A degree, diploma or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have:

• Google Workspace administration and security.
• Linux, Docker or other virtualization platforms.
• Bash or Python scripting for automation.
• Experience with DNS, domains, SSL certificates and web hosting.
• Experience with device management, SSO and centralized access control.
• Experience with monitoring tools.
• Experience supporting multiple clients or business entities.
