About the job: IT System and Network Administrator
Network Overdrive Australia is hiring in Dubai. We are looking for a System Administrator to maintain, upgrade and manage Microsoft Azure and 365 Environments as well as Internet & WAN, Managed Security, IP VPN, VoIP, Hosting and Networking for our Corporate customers.
Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of teams and users.
Your goal will be to ensure that our customer's technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  1. Accountable for administering Azure Infrastructure, Windows domain servers, file/print servers, application servers which are operational on a 24/7 basis.
  2. Install and configure software and hardware.
  3. Manage network servers and technology tools.
  4. Set up accounts and workstations.
  5. Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
  6. Troubleshoot issues and outages.
  7. Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
  8. Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
  9. Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
  10. Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies.
  11. Optimize productivity of Windows servers and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various infrastructure and business applications hosted by client IT Department.
  12. Install, configure, administer and fine-tune Windows operating systems and components.
  13. Provide second level support to incidents and ensure timely closure of incidents with SLA compliance.
  14. Protect Infrastructure Servers from Security threats by timely updating OS patches, security patches and service packs.
  15. Manage User Accounts, Group permissions in various domains and user base of 4000 accounts.
  16. Manage internal and external DNS servers.
  17. Troubleshoot and resolve critical hardware and software problems.
  18. Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
  19. Recommend and execute modifications systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  20. Define and perform system backups and recovery procedures to ensure data protection.

Requirements and skills
  1. Proven experience as an Azure and M365 System Administrator.
  2. Azure Security and Network Administrator or similar role.
  3. Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.
  4. Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
  5. Ability to create scripts in Powershell, Bash or other language.
  6. Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
  7. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
  8. Excellent communication skills.
  9. BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g.)
