Role Summary:
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting the IT desktop infrastructure. This role involves providing technical support for both traditional Microsoft Office desktop applications, hardware, and devices, as well as specialized broadcast-focused applications. The IT Support Specialist will work in a fast-paced, high-pressure 24/7 news environment, where the demands and level of support will be dynamic and challenging. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and capable of delivering effective solutions under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resolve complaints received via phone call or email and similar issues and act to resolve customer problems in a timely manner.
- Assist in the maintenance of IT equipment and systems, printer servers, and network servers.
- Investigate, diagnose, and solve computer software and hardware faults repair equipment, and replace parts.
- Undertake the physical setting up of computers and software system installation for various computer applications and programs.
- Apply effective support remedial and problem resolution measures to deal with problems.
- Maintain records of software licenses, stocks of equipment, consumables, and other supplies.
- Ensure adequate levels of support coverage including scheduling staff coverage, rotating work schedules, etc.
- Interact with other support groups to resolve problems, formulate plans and schedules, and modify processes.
- Ensure appropriate data management and security standards and procedures and direct the recovery of data as required.
- Provide desktop and server administrative functions including data backups, file recovery, software installation and upgrades, internet/intranet addressing, communications troubleshooting, server configuration and maintenance, etc.
- Full technical responsibility for the OS System testing function of a project.
- Investigate OS System exposed violations and potential breaches in security.
- Plan and implement complex installations and to schedule support activities around administrative functions, hardware and software upgrades, etc.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT support or a related field.
- Experienced in MS Active Directory & Azure Active Directory Administration.
- Experienced in supporting Windows OS, MAC OS, MS Office, Microsoft Exchange, and Office 365.
- Experienced in working with Windows Servers.
- Experienced with SCCM, Manage Engine Service Desk Plus, and Trellix EPO Server.
- Experience with SAP System and Adobe Premiere SW is a plus.
- Network based certification such as CCNA is a plus.
- Microsoft based certifications such as MCP, MCTS, MCDST, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP would be preferred.
- Excellent written and spoken English; bilingual proficiency in Arabic/English is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
