Job description

One of our clients in Abu Dhabi is looking for IT Support Engineer.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide technical support for all IT-related systems and infrastructure both at office and offshore.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, hardware, software, and network devices on vessels and at corporate offices.
  • Manage centralized file and application services, including Servers, SAN / NAS, and workstation-level resources on vessels.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain network architectures, including LAN / WAN, Wi-Fi systems, and network security protocols.
  • Hands‑on experience with network infrastructure, routing / switching, firewalls, and Wi‑Fi deployment
  • Administer and support VSAT / FBB satellite communication systems to ensure reliable offshore connectivity.
  • Manage servers, email systems, and cloud services such as Microsoft Azure and Office .
  • Possess strong knowledge of satellite communications (GEO / MEO / LEO) and VSAT / FBB technologies.
  • Administer IP telephony systems, such as Avaya or similar platforms.
  • Maintain and update hardware inventory and associated maintenance records.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure high availability.
  • Collaborate with onshore IT teams to ensure integration and standardization of systems.
  • Ensure all systems comply with internal IT policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in after‑hours and emergency support on a rotational or as‑needed basis.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, marine environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel offshore and support marine operations as required.
