Job Description
- You are responsible for assisting the departments in the operation of all computer hardware and/or software installation and maintenance.
- Serve as a secondary contact for all servicing of computer PC hardware and/or software.
- Responsible for managing technology/asset life-cycle. Ensures that necessary equipment (PCs, servers, telecom-related, etc.) is ordered and available.
- Accountable for disaster recovery and business continuity as it relates to technology.
- Foresees, identifies, and resolves system performance problems.
- Ensures technology assets are secure and well-maintained in accordance with Sofitel policies and standards.
- Data Communication
- Installs, monitors, maintains telecommunications equipment including cabling and provides technical guidance as needed.
- Performs adds/moves/changes/deletions.
- Supports end-user company-provided mobile phone issues.
- Troubleshoots high-speed Internet access problems.
- Escalates problems as appropriate through IT Manager.
- Desktop Support
- Images desktops, installs new software applications, applies patches, maps drives to correct server/network.
- Supports the Hotel in resolving hardware issues through escalation of issues with hardware partners. Hardware includes computers, servers, routers, switches, cables, PABX, monitors, screens, point of sale devices, UPS, and related devices.
- Ensures all IT policies and guidelines are applied in the hotel. Supports the hotel in resolving software issues by escalation to software suppliers.
- Moves/adds/changes PCs/peripherals; migrates data when necessary.
- Maintains a full inventory of all hardware and software supplies.
- Maintains logs of all hardware and service calls.
- Manages configuration records, program files, and data files on the computer system.
- Monitors and reports on system performance, errors, and malfunctions.
- Installs and tests corporate-approved application changes.
- Implements preventive maintenance for all IT hardware and software timely.
- Acts as the IT Department head in the absence of the IT Manager/Department Head.
- Checks daily backups, system interfaces, server hardware, and logs.
- Assigns tasks, trains, and supports IT staff as per standards.
- Follows up on claims forwarded to IT Department.
- Documents and archives correspondence and troubleshooting; follows up with suppliers.
- Has good knowledge of LAN, security, wireless, IP telephony, and various hospitality solutions and software.
- Adheres to Sofitel values, brand standards, and appearance & hygiene guidelines.
- Implements operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Provides friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times.
- Follows timelines strictly.
- Completes daily IT procedures on time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Previous hotel IT experience preferred.
- Strong guest orientation and conflict resolution skills.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong leadership.
