A global IT services company in Dubai is seeking an experienced IT Service Desk Technician to support corporate clients. The role involves providing technical solutions related to Desktop, Networking, and Cyber Security. Applicants should have proven experience in system or network administration, excellent communication skills, and a BSc/BA in IT or Computer Science. The position is full-time with a salary range of AED7,000 - AED10,000 per month.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) is a plus.
  • Ability to provide technical solutions in IT service.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely response to North American customers during USA business hours.
  • Manage Azure Infrastructure and ensure operational servers 24 X 7.
  • Conduct timely OS and security patches to minimize threats.

Network Overdrive Australia is hiring in Dubai

We are looking for an IT Service Desk Technician able to work evenings and be part of a global team of IT professionals.

You will be required to provide technical solutions to Corporate clients about Desktop, Networking (LAN, WAN, VPN, Wifi and Internet), and Cyber Security.

Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly.

You should also have excellent English and Customer Service skills and with an interest to speak to our clients on the phone about minor IT frustrations and major outages.

Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently for our clients anywhere in the world.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure North American customers are receiving timely response to their needs during USA business hours via phone, email, chat and ticketing system.
  • Take necessary actions to have customers Azure Infrastructure, Windows domain servers, Exchange servers, file/print servers, application servers operational on 24 X 7 basis.
  • Conduct timely updating OS patches, security patches and service packs to minimise cyber security threats
  • Investigate cyber security events in SIEM
  • Manage email quarantines and perform analysis of malware.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves critical hardware and software problems.
  • Monitors and tests system performance and provides performance statistics and reports.
  • Recommends and executes modifications systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Define and perform system backups and recovery procedures to ensure data protection.
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms

  • Azure and Microsoft 365 Platforms
  • Fortinet firewalls, switches and WAPs

Requirements and skills
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus
