Job description

POSITION PURPOSE

  • Select, hire and train all IT Department Associates
  • Assist in developing a learning culture in his/her area of expertise
  • Responsible for procuring, installing and operating all SRG SRG Hotels IT related systems and communication systems
  • Assures full PCI compliance, security, data-protection and data-privacy requirements are met to the best level possible.
  • Focuses on personalized Guest experiences as it pertains to IT
  • Controls IT related budgets and expenses and finds innovative ways to improve Guest Satisfaction and cost savings in the IT Department

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Selects, hires and trains all associates in his/her department. Does quality evaluations and proposes development plans for career development for high profile associates
  • Assists other departments in training and development of associates in the field of IT and carries out training for IT security applications.
  • Attend training programs, seminars and development programs provided by the company or other entity for the further development of your position and to stay abreast of ‘What’s New’
  • Assures high level productivity for all direct reports
  • Assures that all associates of the IT department are well versed in the SRG Hotels safety and security processes and emergency procedures
  • Plans for, procures and oversees the installment of all IT and communication equipment, systems and applications
  • Set up, implements and monitors an effective preventative maintenance and maintenance program / process for all IT and Communication related equipment and hardware and software.
  • Assures all IT and Communication systems are set up to the highest security level – PCI compliance and competence is checked on a regular basis – system by system and user by user.
  • Manage all IT and Communication systems and application related contracts effectively, negotiate pricing and services regularly, to ensure maximum benefit for the SRG Hotels.
  • Regularly reviews systems for improvement to assure we are the leaders in IT technology for our Brand and Region and the market we are operating in (Cutting Edge Technology
  • Manages all expenses and revenues effectively and ensures maximum ‘flowthrough’
  • Prepares annual budgets, monthly forecasts and CAPEX budgets, assuring the maximum of ROI and on Guest Satisfaction
  • Assures highest levels of IT and Communication structure to provide individual customer services
  • Manages all IT and Communication related Starwood and local legislation policies and procedures
  • Maintains an effective ‘back up’ system
  • Has an effective emergency process in place and test procedures regularly
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with peers, sub-ordinates and superiors
  • Attends all necessary meetings, training and work sessions called by the GM/ Hotel Manager
  • Carries out all other tasks assigned to him/her by the General Manager
  • Support Corporate, Divisional and Regional technology projects and requirements

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Has at least 2 Years’ experience in the same of similar position in a 5 Star high volume establishment
  • Has successfully lead teams in installing SRG Hotels IT related installations
  • Proven leadership record in preparing and managing budgets and projects successfully
  • Proven record in providing leading edge IT application for the hospitality industry
  • Detail orientated, quality and brand focused
  • Can effectively communicate on all social levels
  • Has extensive experience supporting peripherals, application support, and building solid relationships with clients and vendors. Has excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Has two or more years of management experience and ability to manage and develop others.

  • Certification - MCP & CCNA Certifications highly recommended and preferred.
