Job summary

VaporVM Ltd. in Dubai seeks an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer – L2 to manage enterprise server, virtualization, backup, DR, and data center infrastructure. The role requires hands-on expertise with VMware, Veeam, physical servers, storage, and infrastructure monitoring.

You will configure and maintain VMware vSphere, handle backup and replication with Veeam, ensure security hardening, conduct DR tests, monitor performance, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter and clusters/datastores.
• Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication and restore testing.
• Strong knowledge of physical servers, storage, RAID, firmware, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Experience provisioning, migrating, monitoring, and decommissioning servers.
• Understanding of Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, RTO/RPO, and backup/restore processes.
• Knowledge of infrastructure security, hardening, access controls, and compliance.
• Experience in data center operations including rack, cabling, and power.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, vendor coordination, and incident management.
• Relevant VMware, Veeam, Microsoft, or IT infra certifications advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage physical servers, storage, RAID, firmware, hardware health, drivers, and server management tools.
• Administer VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, clusters, datastores, virtual switches, and VMs.
• Perform VM provisioning, migration, cloning, template management, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Configure and manage Veeam Backup & Replication, including backup jobs, replication, repositories, retention, and recovery testing.
• Build, configure, deploy, and safely decommission physical and virtual servers.
• Manage server roles, applications, monitoring agents, backup agents, and security tools.
• Implement infrastructure hardening, access controls, privileged account management, and security best practices.
• Support VAPT remediation, security audits, compliance reviews, and IT governance requirements.
• Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans and conduct DR tests to meet defined RTO/RPO requirements.
• Monitor servers, storage, virtualization, email, backup platforms, and other critical infrastructure; respond to incidents and performance issues.
• Conduct troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis (RCA) for major infrastructure issues.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation including connectivity diagrams, rack elevations, asset inventories, SOPs, and configuration standards.
• Support data center and IDF operations, including equipment installation, relocation, cabling, patching, labeling, migrations, and hardware refreshes.
• Monitor data center capacity, rack space, power utilization, and environmental conditions.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for hardware maintenance, replacements, support cases, and infrastructure deployments.
