Job Title: Test Engineer – Automation & Quality Assurance
Role Overview
The Test Engineer will report to the Lead, with a dotted line to the Testing Discipline, and will be a dedicated member of the Core Delivery Team. The role is responsible for conducting both System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure developed solutions meet the defined requirements, are fit for purpose, and align with agreed business outcomes. A strong technical background with a focus on automation is essential.

Key Accountabilities
Generic Accountabilities
Adhere to testing transformation KPIs as defined by the Testing Centre of Excellence (CoE).
Ensure accuracy and completeness of data captured within test management tools.
Contribute approximately 20% of time to initiatives and communities established by the Testing CoE.
Demonstrate working knowledge of systems related to Investment Products, Securities, and Digital Assets (e.g., crypto).
Job Context – Specific Accountabilities
Act as a secondee from the Testing CoE and remain accountable to the Engineering Lead.
Conduct SIT and UAT assessments to validate new features and functionalities.
Ensure all solutions conform to the defined acceptance criteria and “definition of done.”
Maintain 100% adherence to established testing frameworks and governance standards.
Apply strong technical skills in development, coding, and automation practices.
Deliver all testing milestones within agreed timelines.
Identify and escalate gaps in automation capabilities, taking ownership to address them in collaboration with the Testing CoE.
Frameworks, Boundaries & Decision-Making Authority
Operate within established group policies, organizational frameworks, and governance structures.
Authorized to take decisions in accordance with the approved authorization matrix.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical or engineering discipline.
Minimum Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Digital Transformation and Agile delivery environments.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Functional Testing – both Manual and Automation.
Strong background in Banking and Financial Services, particularly in Investment Banking.
Proficiency in Selenium WebDriver, Core Java, and associated automation frameworks.
Sound understanding of TestNG, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XPath, XML, and version control tools (SVN, GIT, Bitbucket).
Experience maintaining and enhancing automation frameworks.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new testing tools and technologies.
Excellent communication skills; Arabic reading proficiency is an advantage.
Strong self-management, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Experience in Agile projects and use of HP ALM and JIRA tools.
