Islamic Studies Teacher - Non‑Arab in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a Primary‑Secondary Education opportunity for a dedicated teacher who can deliver Islamic Studies lessons in English to non‑Arab students. The role is designed for an educator who can make Islamic values, culture, history, manners, and teachings accessible through age‑appropriate lessons, interactive activities, and a nurturing classroom approach that supports students’ spiritual, moral, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Islamic Studies in English to non‑Arab students in a clear, respectful, and age‑appropriate manner.
- Prepare lesson plans that align with curriculum objectives, student age levels, school expectations, and learning outcomes.
- Deliver lessons covering the Five Pillars of Islam, Islamic manners, basic Fiqh, Quranic values, Islamic history, and culture.
- Teach the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and stories of the Prophets using engaging explanations, discussions, and classroom activities.
- Use Quran translations and suitable learning resources when needed to help non‑Arabic speaking students understand key concepts.
- Create a respectful and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to learn, ask questions, and participate.
- Apply varied teaching methods, including storytelling, discussion, visual resources, group tasks, reflection activities, and technology‑supported lessons.
- Monitor student understanding through classwork, oral participation, assignments, assessments, feedback, and progress records.
- Provide regular feedback to students and parents to support academic growth, moral development, and classroom confidence.
- Support students in applying Islamic values through honesty, respect, patience, kindness, responsibility, and positive behaviour.
- Participate in school events, Islamic celebrations, assemblies, cultural activities, and student development programs.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leadership to improve curriculum delivery and support student learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, student progress, assessment results, and curriculum coverage.
- Follow school policies related to safeguarding, student welfare, classroom conduct, communication, and professional responsibilities.
- Act as a positive role model by upholding Islamic values and supporting a caring school community.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, Education, or a related field is required.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience is preferred.
- Experience teaching non‑Arabic speaking students will be an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Arabic language skills are a plus but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with international or bilingual school environments is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, teachers, and school leadership.
- Ability to teach Islamic topics in a simple, engaging, and culturally sensitive way.
