The role is for an educator who can deliver engaging Islamic Studies lessons within a British curriculum framework while meeting UAE Islamic B curriculum requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Islamic B lessons in line with UAE curriculum expectations and British curriculum school standards.
- Prepare clear lesson plans that support student understanding, curriculum coverage, and measurable learning progress.
- Deliver Islamic Studies content in a way that is accessible, respectful, and engaging for non‑Arabic speaking students.
- Help students understand Islamic values, Quranic concepts, Hadith, Seerah, worship practices, manners, and moral responsibility.
- Use discussion, reflection, questioning, group activities and practical examples to encourage active classroom participation.
- Prepare assessments, classwork, homework, revision materials and learning activities suitable for different ability levels.
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to improve confidence, knowledge and classroom performance.
- Maintain a positive classroom environment where students feel respected, supported and motivated to learn.
- Work with colleagues to align planning, resources, curriculum pacing and assessment expectations.
- Communicate professionally with parents and school leaders about student progress, behaviour and academic development.
- Support school activities related to Islamic values, assemblies, special occasions and community awareness.
- Maintain accurate teaching records, assessment results, lesson documentation and curriculum progress updates.
- Follow school safeguarding, student welfare, discipline, attendance and professional conduct policies.
- Promote kindness, honesty, responsibility, respect, tolerance and positive behaviour through daily teaching practice.
Ideal Profile
- Master’s degree in Islamic Studies (required).
- Teaching qualification or certification such as PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent (required).
- Strong knowledge of Islamic B curriculum requirements in the UAE.
- Experience teaching Islamic B in a UAE school environment (advantage).
- Previous exposure to a British curriculum school (preferred).
- Ability to teach Islamic Studies effectively to non‑Arabic speaking students.
- Strong lesson planning, classroom management, assessment and student progress monitoring skills.
- Excellent communication skills with students, parents, colleagues and school leadership.
- Collaborative attitude with ability to contribute positively to department planning and school life.
- Passion for student development, values‑based education and respectful classroom culture.
- Organised, patient, professional and committed to high teaching standards.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
