Job summary

Apt Resources is seeking a knowledgeable Irrigation Technician to join our client’s team in Liwa-Asab, Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will install, maintain and troubleshoot automated irrigation systems to optimize water use and crop productivity on multiple farms.

You should have proven experience in irrigation technology, be capable of diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues, and enjoy training farm staff on correct operation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician or in a similar role within agriculture.
• Solid understanding of irrigation systems and water management.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in irrigation setups.
• Strong analytical skills to assess irrigation efficiency and improvements.
• Excellent communication for training farm staff.
• Physically capable of outdoor work in varying weather.
• Technical certification in irrigation technology or related field preferred.
• Experience with automation and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure automated irrigation systems, including drip, sprinkler, and center pivot systems according to agronomic specifications.
• Perform regular maintenance and timely repairs to ensure the systems operate efficiently.
• Monitor soil moisture levels and adjust irrigation schedules based on weather patterns and crop needs.
• Assess and troubleshoot system malfunctions; implement solutions immediately to prevent crop loss.
• Educate farmers and farm workers on proper irrigation system use and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of system configurations, repairs, and improvements made.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding water usage and conservation practices.

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated irrigation systems to optimize water usage and enhance crop productivity on various farms.
