Job summary

Experts International Recruitment Services is seeking a finance professional specializing in invoicing for the oil and gas trading sector in Abu Dhabi. The role requires collaborating with key management personnel to ensure accurate invoicing and timely settlements while maintaining compliance with financial regulations.

The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant with a minimum of three years' experience in the oil and gas trading industry and must possess strong knowledge in financial planning, commodities trading, and relevant accounting standards.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Invoicing Manager and Finance Operations Manager across Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office and Support Services to ensure invoices are reviewed, prepared and issued accurately in a high‑volume, quick‑turnaround trading environment.
• Review and approve complex pricing formulas and align internally with Front Office and externally with counterparties to resolve any discrepancies.
• Support preparation of management information, KPIs and invoicing reports.
• Understand more complex trade products (derivatives, complex derivative deals, swaps, bookouts) to perform the role effectively.
• Chase late payments and liaise directly with counterparties.
• Assist in the period‑ and weekly financial close processes and reporting.
• Monitor trade settlement status and follow through on pending transactions for timely settlements.
• Maintain updated broker settlement instructions for cash and securities for all markets.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the Invoicing team, supporting the Operations and Tax teams to ensure accurate processing of indirect tax transactions and adherence to all applicable regulations.
• Support production of quarterly and period‑end reports in a timely fashion.
• Support daily global performance reporting and ad‑hoc reporting requirements.
• Provide meaningful, actionable insight into business performance trends and opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience, at least 3 years’ in the oil and gas trading industry.
• Trading organization experience.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts under IFRS and accounting standards.
• Chartered accountant with experience of the financial and exchange requirements.
• Industry knowledge – specific experience with/understanding of key drivers, economics, and management practices of the integrated oil industry.
• Commodities trading knowledge – keeps up‑to‑date with international events and geopolitical climate, accounting for trading commodities and financial instruments within the energy sector.
• Financial knowledge – financial planning and strategy, managing profitability, quality management, process improvement, forecasting, corporate finance, budgeting, and knowledge of financial reporting requirements (including standards according to IFRS).
• Systems experience – SAP and CTRM platform desirable.
