Job summary

Goanna Capital is establishing a permanent ADGM office to support its frontier technology investments. The role focuses on investor relations and business development across the UAE, engaging sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and institutional investors to move conversations forward.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years inside or working with a UAE sovereign wealth fund such as Mubadala or ADIA.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Existing relationships with sovereigns, family offices or regional investors.
• Excellent outreach capability and pipeline management.
• Based in Abu Dhabi or Dubai and willing to relocate before October Frontier Summit.
• Strong Excel, PowerPoint, CRM and research skills.

Responsibilities

Goanna Capital invests in the most ambitious technology companies shaping the future of AI, SaaS, cloud, and frontier innovation. Our portfolio includes category-defining leaders such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Ramp, Rippling, and Neuralink.

We are opening a permanent office in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) to coincide with the launch of the Frontier Summit at the Four Seasons in October 2026. This is one of the first two hires on the ground.

The Role

This is an investor relations and business development role at its core. You will drive outreach across the region, keep conversations with investors moving, set up meetings, and keep sovereigns and family offices engaged between touchpoints - knowing what to send and when. You will work hand in hand with our growth and business development team on outbound, and own the day-to-day rhythm of those relationships.

You will help run the ADGM office alongside the Managing Director & Head of Middle East, with daily exposure to the firm's Founder and senior investment team in New York. The work spans LP relationships, sovereign and family office coverage, regional event programming around the Frontier Summit, and supporting the firm's investing activity in the Middle East.

The right person has spent two or more years inside or directly working with a UAE sovereign wealth fund - Mubadala, ADIA, or a comparable institution - and wants a seat at one of the fastest-growing growth-stage firms in private markets.

What Makes This Role Different

• You are the regional anchor in ADGM. Sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and ecosystem partners across the UAE will know you as Goanna's face in the region.
• You will own LP and ecosystem relationships, not service them. From day one you are in the room with sovereigns and family offices, not assembling materials behind the scenes.
• You sit at the intersection of IR, business development, and investing, with a direct line to firm leadership in New York. The work compounds quickly.

What You'll Do

Investor Relations & Business Development

• Drive outbound across the region in partnership with our growth and business development team - identifying who to reach, opening conversations, and keeping them moving.
• Set up and coordinate meetings, manage follow-ups, and keep sovereigns, family offices, and institutional investors engaged between touchpoints.
• Know what to send and when - briefing materials, updates, research, and correspondence that keep relationships warm and progressing.
• Build and maintain databases of investors, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, corporates, founders, and ecosystem partners across the region.
• Run outreach campaigns and own CRM systems, investor pipelines, and internal tracking tools.
• Prepare meeting notes, research reports, and relationship updates for the team in New York.

Regional Investor Coverage

• Build and own relationships with sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and institutional investors across the UAE and broader Gulf.
• Represent Goanna at regional conferences, industry events, and one-on-one investor meetings.
• Support fundraising execution across the region in partnership with the New York investment and IR teams, including investor research and communication with prospective and existing LPs.
• Help build the relationship base around the Frontier Summit, our regional flagship event, and other Goanna programming.
• Serve as Goanna's day-to-day point of contact for ADGM, FSRA, and the broader regional ecosystem.
• Surface and develop relationships with regional founders, operators, and co-investors.

Investing Support

• Support diligence on Middle East and global growth-stage opportunities, with a focus on regional commercial and capital introductions.
• Help portfolio companies access the region through strategic introductions, hiring support, and market intelligence.
• Contribute to investment memos, market research, and internal investment discussions.

What We're Looking For

• 2-4 years inside or working with a UAE sovereign wealth fund - Mubadala, ADIA, or a comparable institution.
• UAE national strongly preferred. Open to non-Emirati candidates with deep regional roots and a strong sovereign track record.
• Existing relationships across sovereigns, family offices, or the regional investment community.
• A natural at outreach and relationship management - comfortable driving outbound, keeping conversations alive, and managing a busy pipeline without dropping threads.
• Sharp commercial instincts, strong written and spoken English, and a genuine interest in growth-stage technology investing.
• Based in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, or willing to relocate before the October Frontier Summit.
• Strong Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, and research skills.
• Experience building databases, running market research, managing outreach campaigns, and drafting professional correspondence.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
