Investment Associate - Transport

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank committed to financing sustainable infrastructure in Asia and beyond. Established in 2016 in Beijing, AIIB has grown to 110 members with a capital of USD 100 billion and holds a AAA credit rating.

The Public Sector Clients Department, Region 1 (PSC1), is responsible for managing projects with public-sector clients across South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Pacific, and Sub-Saharan Africa. The department oversees project preparation, due diligence, and approval, ensuring legal, financial, and technical issues are thoroughly addressed.

The Transport Unit within PSC1 focuses on projects in the transport sector in Region 1 and develops client relationships in emerging sectors like health, education, and digital infrastructure in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Investment Associate - Transport supports project teams in project preparation, execution, and client management, requiring strong technical expertise and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct research on economic and sectoral issues in target countries.
  • Perform economic and technical assessments of transport infrastructure projects.
  • Review feasibility studies for sector infrastructure projects.
  • Assist in early screening and due diligence of investment opportunities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project approval documents.
  • Support project implementation and monitoring.
  • Assist the team in achieving organizational targets.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by team leads or managers.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, economics, geography, urban planning, or related fields.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's or 2-3 years with a master's degree in transport economics, planning, or engineering.
  • Experience with multilateral development banks or related organizations, especially in South Asia, is advantageous.
