Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate to support the investment team in managing and monitoring the family's diversified portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in investment analysis, portfolio monitoring, and operational due diligence, with the ability to work across asset classes and with both internal and external stakeholders. This role provides an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to manager selection, asset allocation implementation, and investment governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting
- Track portfolio performance and risk metrics across asset classes.
- Assist in preparation of investment committee materials, quarterly reports, and portfolio dashboards.
- Maintain investment records and ensure accuracy of data in portfolio management systems.
- Support in the implementation and automation of reporting tools in collaboration with the selected vendor.
Investment Research & Analysis
- Support due diligence on prospective investments across public markets, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, credit, and real assets.
- Build and maintain financial models, conduct industry and company research, and synthesize findings into investment memos.
- Monitor existing investments, review quarterly reports, and participate in calls with fund managers and company leadership.
Operational Support
- Coordinate capital calls, distributions, and fund documentation with custodians and administrators.
- Support legal and compliance processes related to new investments and ongoing operations.
- Assist in the evaluation and implementation of technology and data tools used by the office.
- Ensure timely updates of investment pipeline and transaction status.
Relationship Management
- Engage with external investment managers, advisors, and service providers to support oversight and communication.
- Maintain CRM records and assist with logistics for investment meetings and conferences.
- Prepare briefs and meeting notes of manager interactions and due diligence sessions.
Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; CA/CFA/CAIA designation or progress toward one is a plus.
- Excellent financial modeling and excel skills including LBO modeling
- 3-5 years of experience in investment management, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or within a family office or endowment/foundation setting.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and Excel skills; experience with tools like Bloomberg, Addepar, etc.
- Experience in real estate investment
- Strong experience in fund manager due diligence and selection
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to prepare and present materials with clarity and professionalism.
- High level of discretion, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a small, high-performance team environment.
