Job summary

Lunate, based in Abu Dhabi, seeks an Associate to support origination, underwriting, execution, and monitoring of private credit fund investments. You will conduct credit and GP underwriting, prepare investment memos, and manage deal execution across teams.

The role requires strong financial modeling, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, multi-asset investment firm with exposure to ADGM/SCA regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in private credit fund primaries/secondaries preferred; or related fields with some credit exposure.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with credit documentation and structuring.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Our Credit Funds team focuses on sourcing, underwriting, and managing private credit investments across diverse sectors and geographies.

Job Purpose

The Associate will play a key role in supporting the origination, underwriting, execution, and monitoring of private credit fund investments. This includes conducting credit GP and strategy due diligence, preparing investment memos, managing deal execution processes, and supporting portfolio management activities. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Analysis & Execution

• Assist in evaluating new private credit fund investment opportunities through financial modeling, credit analysis, GP underwriting and industry research.
• Support the preparation of investment committee materials and presentations.
• Coordinate due diligence processes, including engagement with third‑party advisors and legal counsel.
• Participate in fund structuring, terms negotiation and documentation review.
• Monitor fund investment performance, deployment, and strategy execution.
• Prepare quarterly and ad‑hoc reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support ongoing risk assessment and valuation processes.
• Track market trends and maintain relationships with private credit GPs, third party marketers, consultants, and investment banks.
• Assist in sourcing and screening co‑investments, direct and syndicated loan opportunities.

Operational Support

• Collaborate with fund operations, legal, and compliance teams to ensure smooth execution and monitoring of transactions.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in either private credit fund primaries or secondaries underwrite preferred; alternatively experience in private fund primaries or secondaries combined with some experience in private credit, investment banking, leveraged finance, or restructuring.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with credit documentation and structuring.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Experience working in a multi-asset class investment firm.
• Exposure to regulatory frameworks relevant to private credit (e.g., ADGM, SCA).
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
