Oversee daily operations and maintenance of inverters, DC power systems, and PV modules.
Ensure the safe and reliable performance of string inverters, central inverters, DC combiners, and DC cabling.
Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs to reduce system downtime.
Analyze system performance data to optimize energy yield and efficiency.
Coordinate with grid operators to ensure compliance with DEWA regulations and power dispatch requirements.
Team Leadership & Workforce Development:
Lead, train, and mentor the Inverter & DC team, ensuring competency in solar power operations.
Promote multi-skilling by supporting cross-training across different plant functions.
Assign tasks efficiently and monitor team performance to ensure operational targets are met.
Conduct performance evaluations and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordination & Support for Other Functional Units:
Provide technical expertise and support to the Tracker & Cleaning System Team, HV Substation Team, Monitoring and Controlling Team, Procurement Team, Finance, and HR.
Ensure alignment of inverter and DC system operations with other plant functions.
Support procurement in reviewing technical specifications for inverters, DC cables, and related equipment.
Assist finance in cost tracking and budget planning for inverter maintenance and replacements.
Fault Management & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve inverter faults, DC cable issues, and power conversion inefficiencies.
Implement root cause analysis for recurring technical problems and propose corrective actions.
Maintain documentation of troubleshooting activities and lessons learned for process improvements.
Coordinate with inverter OEMs and contractors for complex fault resolution and equipment upgrades.
Compliance & Regulatory Standards:
Ensure adherence to DEWA grid codes, PV plant operation guidelines, and health & safety regulations.
Maintain records of maintenance activities, warranty claims, and regulatory compliance audits.
Implement cybersecurity measures for inverter communication systems.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inverter efficiency, downtime, and fault resolution.
Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on system performance and maintenance activities.
Provide performance analytics to the Plant Manager and recommend operational improvements.
Emergency Response & Safety Management:
Lead emergency response efforts in case of inverter or DC system failures.
Conduct safety risk assessments and implement risk mitigation measures for DC operations.
Ensure compliance with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and permit-to-work (PTW) systems.
Organize safety training for the inverter and DC team to enhance risk awareness and compliance.
Development of the HSE Policies and Procedures:
Ensure inverter and DC system operations align with HSE policies and industry standards.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for high-voltage DC systems.
Maintain accurate records for HSE audits and compliance requirements.
Training & Technical Skill Enhancement:
Train the Inverter & DC team on the latest technologies, best practices, and safety protocols.
Ensure availability of testing tools, software, and diagnostic equipment for efficient operations.
Conduct workshops on inverter troubleshooting, power electronics, and energy efficiency improvements.
Compliance with Information Security Policies & Procedures:
Adhere to DEWA and MSTS information security policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of plant operational data and inverter system parameters.
Protect plant control systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Report security incidents and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes.
Support Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE) Activities:
Participate in safety audits and operational risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with national and international safety regulations.
Support QHSE initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
Certification in Solar PV Systems, Inverter Operations, or Grid Compliance is an advantage.
