Job description

The Inventory Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all inventory-related activities to ensure optimal stock levels, accuracy, and efficiency across the organization. This role manages inventory control processes, leads the inventory team, collaborates with cross-functional departments, and ensures that inventory practices support business objectives and customer demand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies, policies, and procedures to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize shrinkage.

  • Oversee daily inventory operations across all warehouses, distribution centers, and retail (or production) locations.

  • Monitor inventory levels, stock movements, and discrepancies to ensure accuracy and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

  • Lead and manage regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation processes.

  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, sales, production, and logistics teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.

  • Implement and manage inventory control systems and software (e.g., ERP, WMS).

  • Analyze inventory data and generate reports on KPIs such as turnover rates, accuracy, aging stock, and forecasting needs.

  • Train, mentor, and manage the inventory operations team to ensure high performance and accountability.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations related to inventory handling and storage.

Key Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management, logistics, or warehouse operations, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
