The Inventory Controller will be responsible for warehousing and inventory management tasks within the Engineering and Maintenance stores of the Dubai Metro.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational
- Supervise inbound receiving, including offloading, identification, and inspection of materials.
- Verify inbound documents from suppliers for accuracy.
- Coordinate with Engineers for technical inspections of received materials.
- Record received materials in the Maintenance Management System (MMS).
- Verify lot numbers and conversion factors, then record items in MMS, ensuring accuracy.
- Create asset numbers for received assets and record details in MMS.
- Label items with Item ID and asset stickers, and prepare storage locations.
- Upload material images in the Item Master as needed.
- Supervise storage, ensuring proper equipment use and FIFO inventory arrangement.
- Ensure segregation of hazardous materials and availability of MSDS and COSHH documents.
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics regarding rejected materials and international deliveries.
- Supervise outbound issuance, ensuring all requests are processed and recorded accurately.
- Support the preparation and movement of material kits.
- Verify pick sheets and record movements in MMS.
- Supervise staff during verification of returned assets and process returns in MMS.
- Maintain outbound trackers such as Manual Issuance Tracker.
Repair and Decommissioning
- Coordinate with logistics for spare parts for repairs.
- Assist in preparing and verifying assets for decommissioning.
- Record transactions in MMS.
- Supervise waste return processes and waste segregation.
- Coordinate waste collection and verify related documents.
- Process invoices to finance.
Calibration and Certification of Controlled Equipment
- Coordinate calibration and certification activities.
- Handle and store controlled equipment properly.
- Record movements and upload certificates in MMS.
- Verify and process related invoices.
General Tasks
- Record stock movements and perform regular stock audits.
- Assist with cycle counts and annual stock takes.
- Handle manual material movements and ensure 5S standards and FIFO methodology.
- Handle chemicals safely and maintain cleanliness.
- Inspect storage areas and equipment regularly.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment after proper training.
- Oversee shift handovers and report incidents.
- Identify process improvements and perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Degree or diploma in engineering, supply chain management, or related field. Certification in supply chain management preferred.
Experience
At least 3 years of stores/warehousing experience, preferably in rail or related industries.
