Job description
Overview

Oversee the technical and commercial aspects of renewables / offshore wind projects, offshore decommissioning projects, and development of new areas / markets from inception to completion. Responsible for managing wind T&I projects, leveraging expertise in project management, engineering, and commercial principles, while leading cross-functional teams and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the senior offshore management team to support Business Units, strategy teams, internal functions, and offshore installation management activities to strengthen NMDC's position in international markets.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to develop robust offshore execution strategies for international projects.
  • Direct daily operations of owned and hired vessels, optimizing resource allocation to meet project requirements and ensure efficient execution of international offshore projects.
  • Develop vessel and supervisory staff assignment plans, ensuring engineering staffing needs are met, especially during peak workload periods.
  • Oversee planning, execution, and daily operational activities, aligning with project budgets, CHOD, and safety standards.
  • Lead and manage international offshore projects from inception to execution, develop bid strategies, align stakeholders, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Participate in development of new business areas in offshore renewables, and offshore installation for oil & gas and decommissioning projects.
  • Attend constructability review meetings to ensure feasibility, aligning project teams and technical resources with goals and client expectations.
  • Participate in post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance across all project phases (design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning) applying best practices and innovation.
  • Collaborate across offshore operations and fleet management to ensure optimum vessel and equipment availability, supporting NMDC Energy's delivery methods.
  • Stay informed on industry advancements and recommend technological upgrades to enhance capabilities and competitive edge.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, partners, and local authorities to promote NMDC's interests and foster collaboration.
  • Represent the company in discussions and negotiations, addressing project challenges and supporting business growth.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure adequate resources and technical expertise on-site for effective supervision, monitoring, and control, optimizing usage toward project profitability.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, financial models, and contracts, negotiating with suppliers and stakeholders for cost-effective delivery.
  • Guide and lead Heads of International Offshore Operations, Operations Engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to foster a high-performance environment.
  • Mentor and support professional growth across the organization, promoting continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing.
  • Leverage technological innovations to maintain NMDC’s leadership in international offshore projects and improve outcomes.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical, Civil, Naval), or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the offshore energy industry, with at least 9 years in leading offshore installation projects internationally in different regions, preferably as an Installation Contractor.
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
  • Leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact and coordinate effectively with stakeholders at different levels.
