One of the high-tech healthcare facilities in the region's biggest private referral hospital offering effective medical care in a professional and caring environment is looking for an Internal Medicine Consultant.

An Internal Medicine Consultant is a senior physician specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions. They provide comprehensive medical care, including preventive care, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, to patients presenting with complex medical issues. Internal Medicine Consultants often work in hospitals, clinics, or academic medical centers, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough medical evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic tests, to diagnose and assess patients' medical conditions.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, imaging studies, and biopsies, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, medical history, and preferences.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and interventions to manage acute and chronic medical conditions effectively.
  • Monitor patients' responses to treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Manage chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and respiratory disorders, through ongoing monitoring, education, and lifestyle interventions.
  • Provide counseling and support to patients on disease management, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications to improve overall health.
  • Promote preventive care measures, including immunizations, cancer screenings, and lifestyle modifications, to prevent the onset or progression of diseases and promote optimal health.
  • Educate patients about preventive health strategies, risk factors for common diseases, and the importance of regular health screenings.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including specialists, nurses, therapists, and pharmacists, to coordinate patient care and ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Consult with colleagues and specialists on complex cases to obtain additional expertise and ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Provide medical education and training to medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures, case discussions, and clinical supervision.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in internal medicine through ongoing medical education, research, and participation in professional conferences and seminars.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, safety, and satisfaction within the healthcare facility.
  • Identify opportunities for improving clinical processes, implementing evidence-based practices, and reducing medical errors.
