Jacobs Dubai is renowned for technical consulting and project delivery excellence in Transport Infrastructure. We are seeking a Student Bridge Engineer eager for a challenge working in multidisciplinary teams on Highways and Bridges projects. This role involves building relationships and developing smart design solutions through innovation.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities

The primary function of this role is as a student engineer assisting experienced engineers on bridge structures projects in the APME region, with a focus on learning and growth. The role emphasizes learning as much as work, with a goal to retain the student as a potential full-time employee after graduation. The candidate should be mature, independent, and a strong team player, based in the Middle East for 6 months to 1 year, working under supervision of senior engineers.

The key priorities include but are not limited to:

  • Strong interest in Structural and Bridge engineering design with long-term career aspirations.
  • Basic understanding of design methods, calculations, drawings, and technical report writing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and participate in team events.

We believe in collaboration and in-person interactions, supported by our hybrid work policy allowing a mix of office and remote work.

Job Requirements/Qualifications/Experiences

The minimum qualifications include:

  • Enrolled in a civil or structural engineering degree with good academic standing. Awareness of professional development and interest in becoming Chartered is a plus.
  • Knowledge of bridge/structural engineering software such as Midas, AutoDesk Structural Bridge Design.
  • Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling).
  • Membership in a relevant engineering institution (e.g., ICE) is advantageous.
  • Prior related work experience (part-time or summer jobs) is a plus.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

  • Effective teamwork skills.
  • Motivation and commitment to learn.
  • Personal planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
