The interior designer will support the visual and commercial strength of the IKEA furniture showroom by planning, implementing, and maintaining interiors that reflect brand standards and customer lifestyle needs. The role combines space planning, drafting, home furnishing knowledge, showroom inspections, room set decoration, and collaboration with Visual Merchandisers to create practical and attractive home furnishing solutions that improve customer inspiration, store presentation quality, and retail sales performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning in‑house showroom projects and prepare drawings, perspectives, and layout concepts in line with IKEA design principles.
  • Implement and maintain interiors, room sets, displays, and showroom areas to ensure a clean, attractive, and commercially effective customer experience.
  • Carry out daily showroom inspections and correct damages, presentation issues, or display gaps quickly.
  • Support the planning and execution of the store commercial calendar, seasonal activities, product focus areas, and showroom updates.
  • Maintain store areas in accordance with IKEA standards, manuals, visual guidelines, and functional home furnishing principles.
  • Develop room settings that demonstrate practical furnishing solutions for different home spaces, customer lifestyles, and budget needs.
  • Support Visual Merchandisers during store projects, display changes, commercial activities, and showroom improvement initiatives.
  • Present product range coordination, room ideas, and furnishing proposals that help customers visualize solutions for their homes.
  • Plan and decorate inspirational room sets that support product storytelling, customer engagement, and stronger sales conversion.
  • Assist customers by suggesting practical, stylish, and functional interior solutions for living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas, kitchens, and other home spaces.
  • Work with store teams to ensure interiors remain fresh, relevant, well‑maintained, and aligned with customer expectations.
  • Stay aware of home furnishing trends, market preferences, lifestyle changes, and design ideas that can improve showroom relevance.
Ideal Profile
  • Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Retail Design, or a related discipline.
  • 3‑5 years of experience in interior design, showroom design, furniture retail, visual presentation, or home furnishing environments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD with strong drafting, layout planning, and technical drawing skills.
  • Good understanding of space planning, architectural design, furnishing coordination, and customer‑focused room solutions.
  • Knowledge of home furnishing trends, market lifestyle patterns, fashion influences, and customer buying behavior.
  • Strong creative ability with attention to proportion, color, materials, product placement, and practical room flow.
