Job description

Performs a variety of assignments related to interior design studies including: conducting client interviews and building site surveys, programming, space planning and analysis, and preparation of construction documents.
Develops design concepts and design criteria including furniture layouts and finish specifications.
Researches interior products and provides recommendations for color, finish, and material selection.
Writes construction specifications and prepares detailed requisitions for materials and furniture. Interfaces with suppliers as required.
Reviews, approves, and issues detailed drawings and specifications prepared by others.
Visits sites during construction process to ensure compliance with specifications.
Coordinates day-to-day activities including relocation and inventory management.
May recommend refinements to interior design standards.
May support business development activities by participating in proposal development and providing visual aids (e.g., finish boards, etc.) for client presentations.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Architecture or Interior Design (or equivalent) is required with typically 7 to 10 years of related experience.
Proficiency in CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with interior design is also required.
Portfolio of design work.
Excellent communication skills, especially in regard to communicating an artistic vision.
