Job description

Immediate joiners required for an interim legal consultant role on an initial monthly retainer contract; a valid professional licence is required where applicable to the assigned work.

Business reporting: CEO
Working arrangement:

Remote or on-site by agreement; availability during Dubai business hours is required.

Monthly Consultancy Fee:

AED 30,000–40,000/month

Working hours:

Availability during Dubai business hours is required.

About the engagement:

We are seeking hands‑on interim legal support to keep active matters moving while permanent legal recruitment continues. You will deliver agreed tasks across commercial and corporate matters, family-office investments and the CEO’s personal legal matters, with clear priorities, verified work and timely follow-through.

There is an opportunity to transition into a full-time in-house role, based on performance and business needs.

Technical responsibilities:
  • Commercial contracts and corporate matters. Draft and review vendor, retail and affiliate agreements; prepare redlines, identify material risks and support negotiations within the agreed mandate. Assist with transactions and due diligence.
  • E-commerce compliance. Review product pages, checkout, pricing, advertising and terms for potential legal issues. Document findings, proposed corrections and follow-up actions for review.
  • Family-office and investment documents. Support review of fund subscriptions, side letters, limited-partner terms, custody arrangements, loan covenants and counterparty controls. Make obligations, restrictions, deadlines and material risks clear before commitments are made.
  • Disputes and external counsel. Prepare research, case summaries and supporting documents for consumer disputes, regulatory inquiries and litigation. Coordinate with outside counsel and track outstanding advice and actions.
  • CEO personal legal matters. Support personal contract and dispute work, and coordinate cross-border matters with appropriate asset‑protection, estate, immigration and tax specialists.
  • AI-led legal production. Use approved AI tools for substantive document comparison, research synthesis, drafting and risk summaries. Verify decisive authorities, clauses, calculations, dates and document versions against original sources, within agreed confidentiality controls.
Qualifications and capabilities:
  • Independent legal consultant: A recognised law degree, such as a JD, LLB or equivalent, with relevant hands‑on legal experience. Must be qualified as a lawyer in good standing in at least one jurisdiction.
  • Firm‑provided paralegal: The firm must name a qualified lawyer responsible for supervision and final legal review.
  • Demonstrated commercial drafting, legal research and issue‑spotting skills, supported by examples of work personally completed.
  • Experience coordinating cross‑border matters and working with external counsel, including recognising when specialist advice is needed.
  • Substantive experience using AI for legal work, with examples of the output produced, how it was verified and the result. Tool familiarity or grammar‑only use is insufficient.
  • Clear written communication, discretion and reliable follow‑through across competing deadlines.
  • Investment or family‑office exposure, consumer‑protection knowledge, and law‑firm or in‑house experience are advantages. U.S. experience is an advantage.
Legal supervision and scope:

Work within your permitted professional scope and hold any licence required for the assigned work. For a firm‑provided paralegal, a named qualified lawyer must be responsible for supervision, senior advice and final legal review. Confirm how jurisdiction‑specific advice or representation will be provided when required.

Keep company, family‑office and personal matters distinct, with clear confidentiality and conflict arrangements. Binding commitments, settlements and other decisions outside the agreed mandate require the relevant company approval.

Working arrangements and delivery:
  • Receive and manage tasks in Asana, with progress updates, supporting documents and completed deliverables recorded there.
  • Agree the scope, estimated effort and deadline for each task within the monthly arrangement. Confirm capacity, availability during Dubai business hours and any agreed on‑site attendance before engagement.
  • Provide concise findings with verified sources, material risks, recommended next steps and any questions requiring senior review or a business decision. Flag urgent issues and likely delays early.
  • Provide a concise monthly update on matters handled, completed work, material risks, upcoming deadlines, recommended actions and decisions required.
  • Maintain accurate matter records and provide a clear handover of completed work, open issues and upcoming deadlines at the end of the engagement.
