Job summary

Confidential, a well known insurance organization in the UAE, with offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, seeks an Underwriter to assess risk and process new and renewal business within authority limits to safeguard the Property portfolio.

The role includes preparing quotes, renewal notices, property quotations, and maintaining files, while coordinating with claims and operations to ensure timely policy issuance and robust client service.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration.
• 0-1 Years of relevant experience.
• Full Professional Proficiency in English language.

Responsibilities

• Review and carry out risk assessment for new and renewal business within assigned authority limits.
• Prepare quotes in line with corporate guidelines and underwriting authority limits.
• Prepare renewal notices and follow up with clients and producers.
• Prepare property quotations and summary of benefits and premium rates for policy issuance.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation for the unit.
• Provide reports (claims, production, renewals) as required, and liaise with Claims and Operations on system bookings.
• Check the standard questionnaire/ proposal forms received from POS.
• Cooperate with internal departments and branches to ensure timely information transfer.

ROLE PURPOSE

The job holder is responsible to review and carry out thorough risk assessment with new/renewal business adhering to the Underwriting Guidelines as per the assigned authority limits for profitability and sustainability of the company's Property portfolio.

Policies, Processes and Procedures

• Follows all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
• Maintains effective relation with clients (and prospective clients)
• Submits cases to Supervisor/Asst. Manager which are above the authority limit

Underwriting Activities (New Business and Renewals)

• Prepares quotes in line with corporate guidelines and underwriting authority limit
• Prepares renewal notices and follow-up renewal with clients & producers
• Prepares Property quotations, and summary of benefits and premium rates for issuance of policies
• Maintains proper filing
• Sends Cover Confirmation to Operations Department for system booking
• Provides Reports (claims, production, renewals ... ) as and when required,
• Liaises with Claims dept. for loss ratios for processing Renewals
• Liaises with Operations on system bookings
• Checks the standard questionnaire/ proposal form received from the POS

Documentation and Administrative Work

• Prepares Quotations/tenders and all data required for tenders.
• Prepares/Checks faxes/other communications to clients/brokers.
• Prepares Risk Assessment Forms
• Maintains/checks files for the clients

Cooperation

• Cooperates with internal departments/divisions as well as branches to achieve efficient & timely transfer of information

Reports

• Provides Management with appropriate reports regarding the unit and compliance with operational policy and procedures.
