Job summary

Consulture Search seeks an experienced underwriter to join our UAE portfolio. The role reports to the Executive Vice President Non-Motor and focuses on underwriting and managing accounts to secure profitable renewals and new business within our risk appetite.

You will deliver high-quality client service, underwrite risks, and support business development through analysis, communication, and relationship management while ensuring regulatory compliance and effective policy wordings.

Qualifications

• 35 years experience in underwriting within general insurance.
• Proven underwriting expertise in property and liability lines.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Appropriate professional licences and regulatory accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality customer service and maintain strong long-term client relationships.
• Underwrite commercial risks within agreed processes and risk appetite.
• Manage and develop a portfolio of onshore UAE accounts across new and renewal business.
• Secure profitable renewals while identifying and converting new business opportunities.
• Contribute to the development, agreement, and execution of detailed account plans.
• Provide input into the drafting and review of policy wordings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Participate in technical audits, peer reviews and control activities to support governance.
• Support marketing and business development initiatives aligned with account strategies.
• Manage customer complaints within licence authority to ensure fair and timely resolution.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, internal standards and documentation controls.
• Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives including CRM and service enhancements.
• Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to less experienced colleagues.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Vice President Non-Motor this role is responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of accounts securing profitable renewals and new business within agreed strategy processes and risk appetite. Education/ Qualifications

• Strong internal networks and effective collaboration with Sales and distribution teams
• Well-developed external relationships with customers and intermediaries
• 35 years experience in an underwriting role within general insurance
• Proven underwriting expertise in property and liability lines
• Good interpersonal skills with clear and effective communication in English
