Job summary

TASC Outsourcing in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced Instrumentation Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, test, and inspect instrumentation and control systems within a utilities environment.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on field instruments and support PLC/SCADA/DCS/RTU systems, coordinating with electrical, mechanical, operations, and control-room teams. Reading P&IDs and loop diagrams is essential, with a strong emphasis on HSE compliance.

Qualifications

Diploma / Technical Certificate in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, Control Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience in Utilities, Power Generation, Water Treatment, Desalination, Pumping Stations, Oil & Gas, Industrial Plants, or Infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with field instrumentation and calibration.
Familiarity with PLC / SCADA / DCS / RTU systems preferred.
Ability to read technical drawings, P&IDs, and loop diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
Understanding of HSE and Permit-to-Work procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.
Install, inspect, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot field instruments.
Work on pressure, temperature, flow, level, and analytical instruments.
Support maintenance of PLC, SCADA, DCS, RTU, and control systems.
Diagnose faults in transmitters, sensors, control valves, actuators, and related equipment.
Perform loop checking, signal testing, and instrument calibration.
Support shutdown, breakdown, and emergency maintenance activities.
Maintain calibration records, maintenance logs, work orders, and technical documentation.
Assist in testing and commissioning of new instrumentation systems.
Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, operations, and control-room teams.
Read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, datasheets, and control schematics.
Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and company safety standards.
Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives within utility operations.
