Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Automation Engineer for a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) project in Dubai. You will supervise PLC, SCADA, HMI, and process instrumentation while coordinating with civil, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning teams to ensure successful design review, installation, testing and commissioning.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Instrumentation/Electrical/Control Systems and 10–15 years of related experience, with strong knowledge of Dubai

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical or Control Systems engineering or related discipline.
10–15 years in instrumentation, control, automation and SCADA.
5+ years in STP/WWTP/Water treatment or similar utility projects.
Experience with PLC/SCADA/HMI/RTU/MCC/VFD and process instrumentation systems.
Familiarity with P&IDs, I/O lists, cable schedules, and FAT/SAT testing.

Responsibilities

Supervise instrumentation, control, automation, and SCADA for the Sewage Treatment Plant project.
Review and approve instrument data sheets, I/O lists, and control philosophies.
Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, process and commissioning teams.
Oversee installation, testing, calibration, and commissioning of field instruments and control panels.
Witness FAT/SAT and ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality standards and project specs.
Ensure proper documentation, QA/QC, and handover procedures.
