Instrumentation and Control Engineer Supervisor Dubai

As part of our growth in the region, we are currently seeking a Instrumentation and Control Engineering Supervisor to join our newly established office in Dubai DMCC.

Role Overview:

The Instrumentation & Control Engineering Supervisor will manage the Instrumentation & Control (I&C) projects involving Fired Heaters, Reformers, Skid-Mounted Packages, Gas Processing Plants, and Incineration Systems. This role involves full responsibility over I&C design, documentation, procurement support, and schedule follow-up.

Location: Dubai, UAE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of basic and detailed I&C engineering tasks, ensuring timely progress and quality.
• Prepare and review instrument datasheets, technical specifications, and related calculations.
• Oversee the development of wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and connection box/control panel specifications.
• Develop control and safety diagrams for implementation in PLC/DCS systems.
• Manage cable and tray routing diagrams and specifications.
• Ensure effective coordination with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with suppliers during equipment definition, clarification, and technical resolution.
• Manage customer and vendor documentation cycles, including review and approval workflows.
• Prepare all technical documentation for procurement processes, including MRQs, scope definitions, and vendor document requirements.
• Utilize proprietary ERP systems to control documentation workflows and data integrity.
• Lead the evaluation and tabulation of vendor technical offers.
• Conduct or coordinate factory visits, inspections, and technical assessments when required.
• Support site assembly and start-up of instrumentation and control systems.
• Report regularly to the Engineering Director on engineering progress and any deviations.
• Availability to travel internationally for technical support and coordination when necessary.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering (preferably in Automation, Instrumentation & Control, or Electronics).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, including leadership roles in international projects.
• Background in engineering services for the Oil & Gas, Chemical, Refining, or Petrochemical sectors.
• At least 2 years of experience working on-site in industrial plant projects.
• Proficiency with discipline-specific tools and general software (AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with PLC programming from major vendors (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens).
• Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas Plant Control Architectures.
• Experience with SCADA, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS, ESD).
• Familiarity with Machine Monitoring Systems (MMS).
• Knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI/Intools) and P&ID workflows.
• Professional-level English and Arabic (written and spoken).
• Reports directly to the Engineering Director in HQ.
