What are my responsibilities?
- Lead and manage the installation of railway signaling systems, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating all installation activities.
- Supervise and guide teams of installation technicians and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Provide technical expertise and support during the installation process, troubleshooting issues and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
- Ensure all installation activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including progress reports, inspection records, and as-built documentation.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a railway signaling installation manager or in a similar role.
- Proven track record of managing the installation of railway signaling systems, including axle counters, point operating systems, balises, asset protection systems, interlocking and energy cubicles, OMCC and BOCC panels and video walls, Central & Local APS controllers, RFID / RHTM / ABD / DED, and cable infrastructures.
- IRSE (Institution of Railway Signal Engineers) License.
- IRSE Certificate in Railway Control Engineering Fundamentals.
- IRSE Advanced Diploma in Railway Control Engineering.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
