The Installation Engineer is responsible for the safe, high-quality, and efficient installation of KONE solutions. They ensure proper site preparation, lead the installation team, verify deliverables, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure readiness for customer and maintenance handovers.

This role involves following and improving standard working methods based on Lean principles, proactively leading the installation team, and serving as the primary interface with customers and stakeholders throughout the installation process, supporting Sales, CSE, and Project Managers as needed.

Key Responsibilities :

Site supervision :

  • Ensure safety, quality, and productivity during installation and handovers, and address non-conformities.
  • Use correct installation methods and tools, conduct risk assessments where needed.
  • Prepare sites proactively, ensure site readiness, and resolve non-conformities.
  • Verify site execution plans, manage field costs, and oversee installation activities and handovers.
  • Maintain realistic material delivery schedules and confirm milestones.
  • Support payment verification in coordination with the Project Manager and Admin.
  • Plan and organize installation activities, logistics, resources, and tools.
  • Manage materials receipt, including Goods Receipt and coordination of deliveries.
  • Organize handovers to installation teams, clarify scope, timelines, and milestones.
  • Conduct team huddles to promote efficiency and waste reduction.
  • Achieve installation targets, manage change orders, and ensure quality of work.
  • Handle quality claims, documentation, progress reporting, and risk management.
  • Manage environmental aspects related to waste and hazardous materials.

Customer Relationship Management :

  • Serve as the main contact for the customer regarding site management.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication and professional installation processes.

People, leadership, and subcontractor relations :

  • Ensure installation staff are trained, certified, and competent.
  • Maintain safety, motivation, and well-being of team members.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate development efforts.
  • Manage and develop team performance.
  • Maintain professional relationships with subcontractors and ensure commitments are met.

Continual improvement :

  • Follow and improve standard working methods using LEAN principles.
  • Encourage team to identify waste and suggest improvements.
  • Support team development and share improvement ideas using LEAN tools.
  • Promote success stories and recognize team efforts.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Elevators & Escalators, with proven track record.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Customer-centric with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent health and safety knowledge.
