AECOM is seeking a highly experienced Civil Inspector to supervise stormwater and drainage works in Dubai. You will monitor construction activities, ensure compliance with drawings, specs, quality standards, and authority requirements, and coordinate with contractors and surveyors to deliver successful projects.

You will inspect pipelines, manholes, drainage structures, testing, reinstatement, and ensure proper documentation.

Qualifikationen

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of experience in supervision and inspection of stormwater/utility projects.
• Experience inspecting drainage networks, pipelines, manholes, and related works.
• Knowledge of pipeline installation, bedding, backfilling, and reinstatement.
• Experience with CCTV, leakage, hydrostatic, and air testing.
• Familiarity with DM standards, specs, and local requirements in Dubai.
• Ability to verify line, level, coordinates, invert levels, gradients, and survey records.
• Experience reviewing IRs, quality records, test reports, and NCR close-outs.
• Understanding of concrete works, reinforcement, and drainage structures.
• Coordination with contractors, surveyors, utilities authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Awareness of health, safety, environmental requirements for infra projects.
• Strong reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction reporting systems.
• Experience on major UAE stormwater/municipal projects is desirable.

• Monitor defect rectification and NCR closure; report non-conformances.
• Ensure temporary works, diversions, and bypass pumps are in place where required.
• Maintain daily inspection reports, site records, photos, and test docs.

We are seeking a highly experienced Civil Inspector to support the supervision and inspection of stormwater drainage infrastructure works. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring construction activities, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and authority requirements. The role includes inspection of pipelines, manholes, drainage structures, testing activities, reinstatement works, and coordination with contractors, surveyors, and project teams to ensure the successful delivery of stormwater projects.

• Inspect sewerage and stormwater drainage works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and DM requirements.
• Verify setting out, alignment, coordinates, invert levels, slopes, and gradients of pipelines.
• Inspect excavation, trench preparation, shoring, dewatering, and formation levels.
• Check bedding material, thickness, compaction, and pipe foundation before pipe installation.
• Inspect installation of sewer and stormwater pipes, including joints, connections, and fittings.
• Verify pipe diameter, material, class/SDR, and approved manufacturer details.
• Inspect manholes, catch pits, gullies, chambers, headwalls, and other drainage structures.
• Check reinforcement, formwork, concrete grade, dimensions, and finishing of drainage structures.
• Verify manhole invert levels, benching, channels, covers, frames, and internal finishes.
• Inspect connections to existing sewerage and stormwater networks.
• Witness CCTV inspection, leakage testing, hydrostatic testing, air testing, and other required tests.
• Check pipeline pressure/leakage tests and ensure test results comply with project requirements.
• Inspect backfilling and ensure approved material is placed and compacted in required layers.
• Verify compaction test results for trenches and reinstatement works.
• Inspect road crossings, sleeves, protection works, and utility crossings.
• Coordinate with surveyors to verify line, level, and as-built information.
• Review and monitor Inspection Requests (IRs), checklists, and relevant inspection records.
• Identify defective/non-conforming works and report them to the Resident Engineer.
• Monitor rectification of defects and verify closure of NCRs and site observations.
• Coordinate with utilities, road works, electrical, mechanical, and other disciplines to avoid clashes.
• Monitor protection of existing sewerage and stormwater services during construction.
• Ensure temporary works, diversion arrangements, and bypass pumping are properly implemented where required.
• Inspect reinstatement of roads, footpaths, kerbs, and other affected areas after utility works.
• Maintain daily inspection reports, site records, photographs, and test documentation.
• Support final inspection, snagging, as-built verification, and handover of sewerage and stormwater works.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in construction supervision and inspection of stormwater, drainage, sewerage, and utility infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in inspecting stormwater drainage networks, pipelines, manholes, catch pits, chambers, culverts, outfalls, and associated civil works.
• Strong knowledge of pipeline installation, trenching, bedding, backfilling, compaction, and reinstatement requirements.
• Experience witnessing and reviewing testing activities including CCTV inspections, leakage testing, hydrostatic testing, air testing, and compaction testing.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality (DM) standards, project specifications, and local authority requirements.
• Ability to verify line, level, coordinates, invert levels, gradients, and survey records.
• Experience reviewing Inspection Requests (IRs), quality records, test reports, method statements, and NCR close-outs.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, concrete works, reinforcement inspection, and drainage structures.
• Experience coordinating with contractors, surveyors, utilities authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental requirements applicable to infrastructure projects.
• Strong report writing, documentation, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction reporting systems.
• Previous experience on major stormwater, drainage, infrastructure, or municipal projects within the UAE is highly desirable.
