Job Title: Inspection Technician

Location: Soyo, Angola

Job Description – Mission: Execute inspection and Quality Control activities on site and collect relevant records. Ensure mechanical operations are executed in accordance with the relevant Codes and Standards, and the Quality Control Plans / Inspection Test Plans procedures.

Responsibilities

• Execute inspections on material, equipment, steel structures, construction/installation activities and HVAC on site, following relevant procedures and issuing the relevant Quality records.
• Obtain knowledge of project documentation, specification requirements, standards and codes as required by the scope of the contract.
• Notify the client for inspections as per approved QCP requirements.
• Ensure incoming materials and mechanical items receive inspections.
• Verify that all testing and measuring equipment is identified, calibrated, and suitable for testing; ensure instructions for use and setting are available.
• Check daily, and prior to start of onsite work, that environmental conditions are adequate and promote measures to protect the work if needed.
• Implement Inspection and Test Plans for structural steel, vessels, columns, tanks, spheres, heat exchangers, skid-mounted packages, piping, pipe supports, pipeways, pipelines, etc., performing quality control and on-site surveillance with minimal external support from supervision.
• Witness inspections and testing and ensure they are performed as scheduled to meet project objectives.
• Generate and have approved the necessary reports based on QCP and project specifications.
• Evaluate inspection and testing results against contract requirements; monitor preservation for mechanical items.
• Provide support for identified non-conformances or recurrent defects; ensure non-conformance reports are closed out satisfactorily and related documentation completed.
• Collect and manage documents certifying tests, controls and inspection records; ensure records are retrievable for the final As-Built dossier.
• For subcontractor activities, ensure correct implementation of approved Quality Control Plans / Inspection Test Plans, witnessing inspections and collecting relevant Quality Control records.
• Languages: English required.
