Job summary

A local zoological park is seeking an Insect Caregiver responsible for the care and maintenance of its butterfly and insect populations. This role includes feeding, health monitoring, and habitat maintenance. Candidates should have experience in animal care and strong communication skills to engage with visitors. The position requires a high school diploma and the ability for manual labor. Full-time with some weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in animal or insect care, preferably in a zoo or similar setting.
  • Basic knowledge of insect biology and husbandry practices.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and provide food for butterflies and other insects.
  • Conduct daily health checks on insect populations.
  • Clean and maintain insect habitats.
