Job summary

Modern American International School seeks an engaging Information Technology teacher to deliver IT and computer science lessons to K–12 students, aligned with the American curriculum. You will plan, prepare materials, assess progress, and provide constructive feedback while fostering digital literacy, coding and responsible technology use.

You will collaborate on curriculum development, attend staff meetings, work with colleagues, and contribute to school events in a full-time on-site role

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of CS and IT with current educational technologies.
• Experience teaching K–12 with American or international curriculum.
• Background in pedagogy or instructional design; able to differentiate.
• Excellent classroom management and communication; student-centered.
• Experience in multicultural schools; ability to integrate values-based learning.
• Teaching certification or license preferred; UAE equivalency advantageous.
• Comfort with LMS, digital assessment tools and collaborative platforms.
• Teaching diploma and relevant certifications; UAE equivalency noted.

Role Description

The Information Technology Teacher will deliver engaging IT and computer science lessons to K–12 students, aligned with the American curriculum and school standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and implementing lessons, preparing instructional materials, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback. The teacher will support students in developing digital literacy, coding, problem-solving, and responsible technology use, while integrating ethical and cultural values into the learning process. Additional duties include participating in curriculum development, attending staff meetings, collaborating with colleagues, and contributing to school events and activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Computer Science and Information Technology, including current educational technologies and digital tools.
• Demonstrated Teaching experience with K–12 students and effective Lesson Planning skills in line with an American or similar international curriculum.
• Background in Education, pedagogy, or instructional design, with the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a student-centered and inclusive teaching approach.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related field; teaching certification or license is preferred.
• Experience in international or multicultural school environments, and familiarity with integrating values-based and faith-informed perspectives into learning is an asset.
• Comfort with using learning management systems, digital assessment tools, and collaborative platforms in daily teaching practice.
• Teaching certification or equivalent qualification is required.
• Experience in an American or international curriculum is a plus.
• A teaching diploma.
