Job description

IT Support Technician – Onsite Technology, End-user Support & Enablement is part of a team responsible for managing onsite IT infrastructure in close collaboration with other team members.

The focus will be on providing support for end-user workplace services, data centers, projects, asset management, procurement, and VIP users. The team will also support remote help desks requiring onsite intervention and handle critical incidents impacting business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide onsite support to all supported Transport & Logistics brands and business units for incidents and requests related to Onsite Technology.
  2. Manage activities related to the Asset Life Cycle, including installation, moves, additions, changes, and decommissioning of IT equipment such as PCs, laptops, printers, and servers.
  3. Assist with facilities management and office move planning.
  4. Support hardware and software asset management, tracking, and auditing for devices not connected to the network, following Maersk Line global processes.
  5. Conduct IT clinics and training sessions for business engagement.
  6. Troubleshoot LAN cabling and coordinate troubleshooting for other local IT infrastructure issues.
  7. Provide on-call support for critical incidents outside normal hours as part of Business Continuity planning.
  8. Support other locations and offices as needed, which may require travel.
  9. Ensure compliance with Cyber Security standards in service delivery.
  10. Provide VIP support to select customers according to SLAs and agreements.
  11. Assist with procurement of hardware following Maersk purchasing procedures.
  12. Act as local project coordinator for hardware/software upgrades and regional consolidation projects, including warehouse and office moves.
  13. The role primarily involves supporting warehouses in Dubai South and Industrial City, requiring extensive mobility and support outside regular hours, including weekends.
  14. Demonstrate flexibility, willingness to go the extra mile, and innovative problem-solving skills.
  15. This role involves varied tasks such as supporting RF guns, label printers, network infrastructure, and HP laser printers.
  16. Support cabling and understand project management for warehouse setup and implementation.
  17. Maintain support for meeting room infrastructure and data center management at BAS Tower Office.
  18. Provide procurement support for IT hardware infrastructure across UAE, Oman, and Qatar.
