About the Role
As the Payroll Officer, you are expected to ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll and employee compensation at the University of Sharjah. This includes calculating salaries, processing benefits, maintaining payroll records, and adhering to relevant labor laws and regulations, all in alignment with the established policies and procedures. Your role is crucial in ensuring that all payroll operations are efficiently managed and in compliance with the University's standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan the information technology audit process, determining the scope of work, preparing the necessary audit activities and risk assessments for the concerned departments.
- Ensure consistent application of University By-Laws, policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
- Handle the technological innovation process for IT services by creating a risk profile for current and future projects.
- Examine the current technologies in the university and future planned technologies that will need to be adopted.
- Help verify that the technological systems that are being used and/or developed are suited for the university and meet development standards.
- Prepare the required reports and analysis after each auditing activity related to information technology.
- Follow-up with the relevant colleges/departments to ensure the proper implementation of any recommended solutions related to information technology.
- Assist in implementing the IT quality assurance standards in the Compliance and Internal Audit Office.
- Work on building professional and positive relationships with the concerned colleges/departments.
- Remain abreast with latest local, regional, and global IT-related updates.
- Assist in reviewing IT policies and procedures, as well as contribute to the preparation of related auditing activities.
- Ensure the security, integrity and confidentiality of any incoming or outgoing critical information/data.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in computer sciences, MIS, Finance, Accounting or a relevant discipline.
- 2-4 years of UAE experience in a similar role, preferably in higher education institutions.
- Professional certificates such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to prepare professional documents, in both Arabic and English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of related processes, best practices, compliance and reporting requirements.

- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail.
- A good understanding of IT security and infrastructure.
