Job description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and analytical professional to support the UAE’s industrial policy and trade agenda. This role sits within the Industrial Growth Sector and focuses on industrial development, local manufacturing strategies, and sectoral analysis, while also contributing to trade in goods and economic partnerships, including trade agreements. (CEPA, FTA)

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics or engineering, with the ability to analyze data, contribute to strategic projects, and support trade-related workstreams that align with the UAE’s industrial ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

Industrial Policy & Localization:

  1. Support studies and initiatives aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of UAE-based industries.
  2. Engage with local manufacturers to assess capabilities, challenges, and export readiness.
  3. Identify priority sectors for localization and recommend strategies aligned with national goals.

Data Analysis & Economic Assessment

  1. Monitor and interpret industrial and trade data to inform policy planning.
  2. Conduct economic assessments to identify trends, opportunities, and sectoral risks.
  3. Deliver insights and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.

Trade Negotiation Support

  1. Analyze trade-related documents and market access data to support CEPA and FTA negotiations.
  2. Contribute to technical notes and policy recommendations for bilateral and multilateral discussions.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure UAE industrial interests are represented in trade agreements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  1. Prepare reports, briefs, and presentations for senior leadership and external partners.
  2. Coordinate with manufacturers, government entities, and international stakeholders.
  3. Support workshops, consultations, and forums related to industrial and trade development.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in economics, Engineering, or a related field (master’s preferred).
  2. 3–5 years of relevant experience in industrial strategy, economic development, or trade policy.
  3. Solid understanding of the UAE’s industrial priorities and global trade environment.
  4. Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with proficiency in Excel.
  5. Familiarity with WTO frameworks and international trade agreements is preferred.
  6. Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  7. Strong organizational and project management abilities, with the flexibility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
