Job Description

We are hiring a qualified industrial electrician to support our cigarette manufacturing facility. The role involves maintaining electrical systems, troubleshooting machine-level electrical faults, and working with laser-based units used in production. The ideal candidate has experience in a cigarette factory or high-speed manufacturing line and can independently manage electrical issues at both machine and facility levels. Experience with laser units is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across the production floor.
  2. Handle laser unit servicing, alignment, calibration, and fault diagnostics (e.g., perforation lasers, date coding lasers, tax stamp verification lasers).
  3. Respond to electrical faults in production machinery (e.g., ITM Mark 9, HLP 250, conveyors, wrapping lines).
  4. Maintain control panels, drives, relays, PLC wiring, and safety interlocks.
  5. Assist with machine changeovers requiring electrical reconfiguration or fine-tuning.
  6. Ensure safe routing and protection of cables, junctions, and connections.
  7. Conduct preventive electrical maintenance as per schedule.
  8. Maintain records of interventions, replacements, and incident logs.
  9. Comply with factory safety regulations and electrical standards.
  10. Support production during breakdowns and shift changes, including after-hours callouts if needed.
Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements:

  • Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electricity, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or cigarette production facility.
  • Hands-on experience working with industrial laser units used in high-speed production (coding, perforation, or verification systems).
  • Skilled in troubleshooting electrical faults in machines, panels, and PLC circuits (basic level).
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and use basic electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Familiar with safety protocols in electrical maintenance and live circuit handling.
  • Available to work in rotational shifts and respond to emergency breakdowns.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a cigarette factory (strongly preferred).
  • Understanding of FTA tracking mechanisms, sensor-based ejection systems, or machine interlocks.
