About the Role
As Import Clearance Manager, you will lead day-to-day import operations, oversee brokers/agents, and drive on-time, compliant delivery across modes while optimizing cost and process.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end import clearance process, ensuring compliance with UAE import/export laws and authority requirements.
- Lead coordination with shipping lines, carriers, and third-party agents; resolve complex holds and compliance issues.
- Review and approve documentation, HS classification, and duty/tax calculations.
- Track KPIs (clearance lead time, cost per shipment, first-pass approval rate) and implement process improvements.
- Manage multitasking across multiple shipments/ports; prioritize to meet SLAs.
- Coach team members and liaise with internal stakeholders (procurement, finance, warehouse).
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related import/customs clearance role (UAE preferred).
- Experience in Al Aweer Fruits & Vegetables Market – Dubai will be preferable.
- Fluent in English; strong written and verbal communication.
- Excellent multitasking, organization, and stakeholder management.
- Solid familiarity with UAE import/export regulations and documentation practices.
- Strong MS Office skills; comfort with TMS/ERP or port community systems is a plus.
